If you appreciate Black Rose as a radical space in the heart of Newtown, a place to read books, see films, listen to music or hold meetings - if you want it to be a space that can bring people together, help spread radical ideas, provide us with a place to learn from books & from each other, & strengthen challenges to capitalism & oppression - then we need your help.
Here are some things you can do:
- Donate money. It's obvious but it's true. You can come into the shop or transfer money into our bank account.
If you are in a position to set up a regular direct debit (eg $10/month), this ongoing support will really enable us to put our effort into making the space practical and accessible. Please email us.
- Renew your library membership or buy a membership for a friend
- Donate books for the library.
- Hold an event. Is there something you're involved in that you want to talk about? An interesting film you think deserves discussion? A zine to launch?
- Help run Black Rose. The space is run by a collective of volunteers who meet every Thursday night at 7pm for the sometimes boring, sometimes exciting work of keeping Black Rose open.
- Come to a monthly open meeting on the last Sunday of each month. This is the best place to talk about what you think Black Rose should be, share your brilliant ideas, & work out with everyone else involved in Black Rose how things can happen.
